Since it was built in 1924, the Penobscot Valley Country Club has hosted more than 10 Maine Amateur Golf Championships. Now, members and visitors can enjoy a restaurant, a full bar and a beautiful event space in addition to our 18-hole public golf course in Orono, ME. Whether you want to enjoy a weekend getaway or a nice dinner with your special someone, our local country club is the place to go for competitive events, charity fundraisers, a wedding venue or to enjoy a Donald Ross Grill!

About the Course

Penobscot Valley Country Club is an 18 hole, championship golf course located in Orono Maine. It was designed by the celebrated Donald Ross and built in 1924. In the 90 years that followed, the club has hosted golfers from Arnold Palmer, Tom Watson, and Gene Sarazen… and has established an impressive pedigree of competitive events.

Since 1926, no less than ten Maine Amateur Championships have taken place at Penobscot Valley; an 11th Amateur is now scheduled for the near future. Members have special privileges at Penobscot Valley, but the public is ALWAYS welcome!

 

The nearby Bangor Waterfront Concert Venue brings some of the nation’s largest music acts and they come to play at PVCC when they are in town. If you get lucky, you might be able to catch the next big star playing a round!
